Welcome to Audio Bible Downloads

Well, Welcome to Audio Bible Downloads and my first ever blog post at any time. I don’t know which is more shocking, my having a facebook page or doing a blogpost! My wife and daughters are amazed at both. I guess the reason for this change can best be summed up in this wonderful statement,”Faith comes from hearing and hearing by the Word of Christ”. Romans 10:17

That God in His endless mercy would stoop to allow me (a saved sinner) or any other human to be involved in sharing His truth is amazing. But we are not only allowed to do so, but encouraged and empowered to do so. Speaking of power, God’s power to use the spoken Word was never more evident since the Bible was finished, then in the ministry of the prince of preachers. Note below..

On October 7, 1857, C. H. Spurgeon preached to his largest audience ever: 23,654 assembled in the mammoth Crystal Palace for a national day of fasting and prayer. “A few days previously he went to the hall to test the acoustics. Standing on the platform, he lifted up his voice like a silver trumpet and cried, ‘Behold, the Lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the world.’ A workman, busy painting high up in one of the galleries, heard the words which seemed to come to him from heaven. In deep conviction of sin he went home and did not rest until he was able to rejoice that Christ was his Savior.” Something about Spurgeon’s reverent tone and resonant voice, when quoting that text, arrested the attention of that man.

I hope that you will feel welcome at this website and blog! Our goal is to magnify the Person and work of the One that doubting Thomas affirmed as, “my Lord and my God” John 20:28.

Throughout the years that I’ve read Bibles, I’ve realized that that The American Standard Version is the easiest to understand.

Factors in finding the right Audio Bible for you:

There are a number of MP3 Bibles out there 1. Bit-Rate: Since MP3 is a "lossy" format, it can be important to know what bit-rate the MP3 files have been saved at. MP3 files saved at a low bit-rate can sound distorted and can be irritating to listen to. Sadly, most web-sites don't provide this information. If you can at least hear a sample of the recording, this can be very helpful. If the entire Bible fits on one CD-ROM disk, then it is probably recorded at a low bit rate since a CD only provides about 700 Megabytes of storage. A decent recording of the entire Bible will typically take anywhere from about 1-2 Gigabytes in the MP3 format. 2. Style of Reading: Three styles of reading … [Read More...]
